What is an invoice due date calculator?

It is a free tool that works out exactly when an invoice is due from the invoice date and the payment terms. Instead of counting days on a calendar, you pick the terms (Net 30, Net 60, due on receipt, end of month, or a custom number of days) and see the precise due date and how many days away it is. It helps you set clear expectations on every invoice and follow up at the right time.

What does Net 30 mean?

Net 30 means payment is due 30 days after the invoice date. The "net" refers to the full invoice amount, and the number is the number of days the client has to pay. So an invoice dated the 1st with Net 30 terms is due on the 31st. The same logic applies to Net 15, Net 45, Net 60, and Net 90: just count that many days from the invoice date. This calculator does the counting for you, including months of different lengths.

Common payment terms

TermWhen payment is due
Due on receiptImmediately, on the invoice date
Net 1515 days after the invoice date
Net 3030 days after the invoice date
Net 6060 days after the invoice date
Net 9090 days after the invoice date
EOM (end of month)The last day of the invoice month

How to use this invoice due date calculator

Enter the invoice date (it defaults to today), pick your payment terms, and the due date and countdown update instantly. For unusual terms, choose "Custom number of days" and type the number. Use "End of the invoice month" or "End of next month" for EOM-style terms that many suppliers use.

Tips for setting payment terms

State the terms and the exact due date clearly on every invoice so there is no confusion. Shorter terms get you paid faster, so use Net 15 or due on receipt where you can, and save Net 60 or Net 90 for larger clients who require it. Consider an early-payment discount to speed things up, and set a late fee for overdue invoices. When a payment slips past its due date, our free late fee calculator works out the fee and total owed.

This calculator counts calendar days, not business days. If your terms are based on business days, adjust for weekends and holidays.

FAQs

Net 30 means the full invoice amount is due 30 days after the invoice date. Count 30 calendar days from the date on the invoice to find the due date. Net 15, Net 45, Net 60, and Net 90 work the same way with a different number of days.

Add the number of days in your terms to the invoice date. For end-of-month terms, the due date is the last day of the invoice month (or the following month). This calculator handles months of different lengths and leap years for you.

Due on receipt means payment is expected as soon as the client gets the invoice, with no grace period. It is the fastest term and is common for small jobs, new clients, or one-off work.

EOM stands for end of month. Terms like "Net EOM" or "due EOM" mean payment is due on the last day of the month the invoice was issued. Some suppliers use "end of next month" to give clients a little longer. Both options are in this calculator.

Yes. Choose "Custom number of days" and enter any number, for example Net 21 or Net 45, and the calculator works out the due date. Whatever terms you agree with your client, state them clearly on the invoice.
